The Philosophical, Social, and Historical Foundations of Education

Department of the Philosophical, Social, and Historical Foundations of Education

All fields of science are grounded in a specific philosophical epistemology and way of thinking, historical accumulation, and sociological ontology. High-quality scientific education and research are only possible by understanding the philosophical and historical foundations of the relevant field and ensuring interdisciplinary coherence in new research while taking the past into account. The Department of the Philosophical, Social, and Historical Foundations of Education was established.

The aim of this field of study, which is planned to offer graduate-level education (thesis-based and non-thesis master’s and doctoral programs), is to provide educators with an intellectual perspective and qualifications by examining the intertwined contexts of education, society, and politics through the conceptual frameworks of disciplines such as history, sociology, philosophy, art, religion, and language, to provide educators with an intellectual perspective and enhance their qualifications.
