Learning is not limited to a single period. It is a continuous journey of transformation that prepares individuals, institutions, and society for a changing world.
The Lifelong Learning and Adult Education Program was launched pursuant to the decision of the Higher Education Executive Board dated June 15, 2016, in line with the restructuring of departments and major fields of study within Turkey’s faculties of education.
The program offers education at the non-thesis master’s degree level. The program has three faculty members and receives support from other faculty members.
The main objective of the program is to develop the theoretical and practical foundations of educators and professionals who wish to work or are currently working in the fields of lifelong learning, adult education, and human resources, and to enable them to specialize in these areas.
The program plays an active role in collaboration with civil society organizations, professional associations, institutions, and local governments in the development of policies in the field of lifelong learning.
The program aims to train experts who can analyze the learning needs of adults at different stages of life, develop learning opportunities tailored to various target groups, and contribute to the dissemination of a culture of lifelong learning. Students gain theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the areas of adult education, learning and instructional design, the use of artificial intelligence, academic writing, research, program development, and evaluation.
